Dear tattoo fan,
Ink District and Uncover Lab have joined forces to strengthen the relationship with your tattoo. We share the vision that we can enrich the world through illustrations with meaning. In this article we would like to inform you about this cooperation and inspire you about the possibilities of laser engraving.
Ink District is a tattoo studio in Amsterdam with a collective of more than 10 tattoo artists. Famous artists from all over the world also visit their studio. We reached out to Ink District because we love to make "things" personal. As the first tattoo shop for objects, our goal is to develop a lasting relationship between people and things. We think it is the perfect opportunity for people to share their tattooed design with an object they love.
To be clear, we only offer this opportunity to Ink District customers with an appointment in October. Our shop is about a 20-minute walk from Ink District and you are welcome anytime, anyplace, without informing us (check our address and opening hours below). Please make sure that the object you want to have engraved is no larger than 40cm by 30cm and that the engraving area is no larger than 15cm by 15cm. We will almost always be able to help you immediately.
So, about the engraving: we are a very experienced team and take great care when it comes to your personal item. Our laser machines can engrave very detailed designs on various materials, such as wood, metals, cardboard, leather and denim. However, much experimentation has taught us that not every detailed design looks equally good on certain materials such as leather or old wood. If you have any concerns about your item, feel free to contact us online, by phone or by dropping by. Please note that engraving is permanent and at your own risk, just like a tattoo. Unlike a tattoo, engraving is much quicker, we will need about 10 to 20 minutes of your time.
To give you a small impression of what we engrave, think about MacBooks, bags, jeans, phones, AirPod cases, game consoles, watches, signet rings and our favourites, notebooks, cutting boards and potatoes :). Preferably a flat piece or object. Our own shop is full of items that can easily be engraved, so for more inspiration we suggest you take a little peek at our website or instagram. If you really have no idea what you want to have engraved, you might consider buying something from us, and have it made for you.

We reached out to Ink District because we love to make "things" personal. As the First Tattoo Shop for Objects it's our goal to create sustainable relations between humans and objects. We thought it would be the perfect opportunity to let people share their inked design with an object that's dear to them.
Just to be clear, this opportunity only applies to customers of Ink District with an appointment in October. Our store is a 20 minute walk from Ink District and you're welcome anytime, any day without giving us further notice (please check our address and opening hours below). Make sure that your item that's not bigger than 15cm to 15cm as it needs to fit in our machine. Most of the time we can help you instantly, maybe you need to wait a minute or five.
So, about the engravings: we are a very experienced team and take utterly high care when it comes to your object. Our laser machines are capable of engraving very detailed designs on various materials, like wood, metals, carbon, leather and denim. However, practicing taught us that not every detailed design works as fine with all materials, like leather or old wood. If you have any concerns about your object you should definitely contact us online, by phone or just walk in our store. Take in mind: engraving is permanent and at your own risk, just like a tattoo. But in contrast, engravings are done pretty quick as a session takes about 10 to 20 minutes in total.
